Summer time is here and people are scrambling to get out of the city and head on to different parts of the country for even a short vacation.
Last week, me and my family went off to Baguio as part of the Family Fun Tour. I felt a little hesitant at 1st since I was going out of town in a bus. Dont get me wrong, I was hesitant since we had to travel for around 6 hrs with 3 small kids. Fortunately, my fears were unfounded, no travel issues to baguio.
Happy Kids with their SUGUS candy bought at the last bus stop before baguio.
Taking the bus to baguio will take you about 4-8 hrs depending on the time you leave and the type of bus. We left at 4 am in the morning( I suggest you buy your tickets early) And got to baguio around 11 am, where we went directly to our hotel. Which one? Azalea Residences!
When we got there, the assigned rooms werent ready yet ( since it was early – DUUHHH).
We were met with welcome drinks to take the thirst away from travel and brought up to the Presidential Suite to pass the time while we waited for our rooms.
The boys immediately started getting cozy by jumping on the sofa and watching TV.
The Presidential Suite has its own Sala and eating area. Cooking Area and Bathroom on the 1st floor.
3 almost identical rooms on the 2nd floor or mezzanine. Each room has its own TV, Bathroom and Airconditioning unit
The bed was so comfortable, I fell asleep within 5 minutes.
Azalea Residences is located at
- Leonard Wood Loop, Brgy. M. Roxas 2600 Baguio City. Near Teachers Camp
I’ve been to Baguio a lot of times and decided to forgo most of the old places I used to go to.
After a quick nap – we went for lunch on Session Road. One thing I really like about Baguio is the plethora of great dining places that wont break your budget. We found a restaurant that offered set meals for as low as 75 php. Lunch cost us less than 400 for the 5 of us.
After lunch, we decided to head on back to the hotel to rest more and let the kids play at the playground which by the way is open from 6 am till 10 pm.
After the playground, we decided to go to the Mandatory Baguio Spots ( I mean mandatory coz everyone has at least a couple of pictures there.)
1st stop, THE MANSION
Why was the Mansion constructed and when? Read the wall plaque in the top picture.
After The Mansion, next stop was Wright Park. How to get there? Just cross the street and keep on walking.
What I love about Wright Park is the flowers and the trees as you walk along going down to the horses.
Did you know that Baguio already installed this along most of the tourist spots?
Straight ahead and you’ll get to the stairs going down to the horses .
Horse back riding is one of the things you shouldnt miss in Baguio.
200 php for hAlf an hour and 300 for an hour.
And here is a shot of horse back riding backwards. hehehehe
After riding, a quick snack at Volante Pizza right in front of Wright Park.
2 small pizzas as a small snack before dinner for the kids.
After eating, we decided to walk around for a bit and came across some of our brave men in the armed forces or the police.
Dinner is Azalea on Fridays and Saturday are Buffet | Eat all you can.
Fridays is a Mongolian themed dinner
So whats after dinner? Each to his own devices.
TV for the Kids in the 2nd bedroom.
And work mode for me in my new work area. ( Im thinking of having one in the office or the house.)
Hehehehe – a bloggers work / Call center guy/ web thingee is never done. The tablet is mostly use for work on trips is the KATA Fishtab 3 which has 8 GB internal memory and 2 gig ram.
And thats a wrap for the 1st day. What does the other room look like? Hmmmm stay tuned for days 2 and 3 of the #familyfun at #baguiocity with Azalea Residences and you might see it.
