At the Fairmont Hotel last 10th of July, 2014 was the official media launch hosted by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of The Philippines Inc. (CAMPI), it was intended for the upcoming and most-anticipated 5th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) which will take place this September 18th to 21st of 2014 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. This event is no doubt the biggest of its kind here in the country since CAMPI is comprised of the leading automotive brands all over the world. Originally, CAMPI had nine regular members back in 1995. With the inevitable expansion of economic and technological growth, the organization has now a staggering number of sixteen high-caliber brands supplying the country of its much needed automotive overhaul and they are as follows: BAIC, BMW, Daewoo, Honda, Isuzu, JMC, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Suzuki, Toyota, and Volkswagen.
This year, CAMPI will showcase outstanding growth that has been notably evident for the past few years; hence it’s theme “Progress in Motion”. In fact, the Chamber has reached 22% more sales just last June, 2014 compared to a 16% figure same month last year. Also, this laddering progress has generated hefty amounts of contributions to the Philippine Government and it’s people. With increasing consumer confidence and the consistent partnership between government and private sectors CAMPI continues to be an advocate towards a holistically healthy transport system which benefits the end users of their products.
“PIMS has always been more than a motor exhibit. This year, it serves as our platform in conveying how the automotive industry is a vital player in the Philippines’ thriving economy. The industry’s robust performance in the past two years is also proof that we are progressing toward better mobility and transportation,” said CAMPI President Rommel Gutierrez.
In the upcoming motor show, I am honestly very excited since there are a lot of activities that we can participate in such as automotive photography, scale-model exhibits, car club convention and test drives. Let’s not forget the stars of the show, the cars!!!! There will be awesome concept and prototype cars, CAMPI will also showcase 12 of the most iconic cars you will ever see showcasing the history of the Philippine automotive industry from the time of its conception. Car enthusiasts will truly be ecstatic about this news because on top of everything that has been mentioned, these world-class brands will also definitely show off their newest and most advanced models. To visually encapsulate what you can expect this September, here is a video to demonstrate:
