International Paragliding Accuracy Championship 2014 – A 1st successful run

Last August 22 to 24, 2014 the 1st International Paragliding Accuracy Championship was held in Safi Farm, Maasim Sarangani. The event was attended by almost 60 Paragliders from different countries. Malaysia, Indonesia, Germany, Spain, Taiwan, Philippines. With 39 of those pilots competing in the event. (World Cup events usually draw only about 80 pilots competing.)

The IPACPH2014 was spearheaded himself by the only Filipino Certified trainer for paragliding  “Buko” Raymundo and Air Sports Philippines.


The 1st part of the 1st day was spent for practice flights for most pilots with the 1st round of jumps being done near the end.

With the 1st day ending at around lunch, the Pilots went for some R&R and with a socialization dinner to cap of the day.

The 2nd day started bright and early at around 6 am. The event was attended by personalities on camera and world cup winners.

World Cup 3 time Paragliding Champ from Indonesia was also on site and participating.

Leading the 2nd day results is this lovely, tall lady from Taiwan being interviewed by Raffy Pedrajita.


The 1st 2  days was great although it did not go through without a hitch with 2 injuries, one for each day.. A broken ankle due to a mishap and a pilot stall in about 20 feet. – No worries – both pilots were up and about with no lasting injuries.

The 3rd day was a total upset in the leading line up when 2nd day leader with 9 points Chia0 – Yu Chiang stalling in about 10 feet thus finishing her score with an additional 500 points.

The awarding ceremony was held in a resort in Sarangani with the Ms. Earth winners attending to award the team and individual winners.
