Today I got an email notification that 2 of the biggest online freelance companies in the Internet are merging.
Is this true – of course – the email came from one of them.
For those that are active in the freelance market in the net, this news comes as a shock and has varying reactions.
Having been a member of both communities for the past years, this is also a surprise for me, both sites has their own niche, and actually their own strengths and weaknesses.
Once the merger is completed the company will have a combined global community of more than 8 million freelancers and 2 million businesses in over 180 countries, with an estimated $750 million in billings in 2013.
It is not yet final and finished, since the merger still needs to go through the usual regulatory requirements.
