Asia will soon get to meet the newest recipients of its premier award.
The Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation (RMAF) will reveal the identities of the 2013 Ramon Magsaysay Awardees on July 25, 2013 through an announcement in Philippine national broadsheets and in its official website, www.rmaf.org.ph. They will join the 296 individuals and organizations who belong to the community of Ramon Magsaysay laureates.
The year 2013 marks the Foundationâ€™s 55th year of honoring the great men and women of Asia. For the past 54 years, RMAF has recognized individuals and organizations that have shown greatness of spirit and contributed transformative solutions to the pressing problems of communities all over Asia.

The Ramon Magsaysay Awardees come from diverse background from all over the continent. Considered as the modern heroes of Asia, they have been working in different fields. They are involved in preserving culture and the arts, promoting inclusive education, campaigning for universal health, advocating respect for human rights, implementing clean and effective governance, restoring peace, strengthening international understanding, working for sustainable development in the rural and urban areas, and caring for the environment, among others.
The 2013 Ramon Magsaysay Award Presentation Ceremonies will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on August 31, 2013.
