Why does a work at home blog have articles that are Tech and Travel?

A lot of people ask me how I work at home, How I got started with working at home. How they can start working at home and a lot of other things. Another thing I always get is why I have a blog about working at home and at the same time featuring travel, technology, events and food.

For those that have been able to attend the seminars that we hold every couple of months, you will understand.. let me try to explain. Work at home. working at home, home based jobs  – does not basically mean you only work at home. You can be what they call in Europe a nomad worker. In essence – you can work anywhere, anytime – in your home -in the parking lot, on the beach, basically anywhere you can do what you need to.

The articles we publish here are for those who work at home, want to start working at home. It is also about the things that can help you start working at home like the latest gadgets and services that can help you in working.

Take for example the last 4 days. I was in Sarangani to cover an event – If I wasn’t a work at home dad, or nomad worker, I wouldn’t have been able to keep on doing the things I needed to work on. In Manila, I use my home dsl that has 5 mbps speed to keep up with the daily requirements of my work. Like Social Media Management. Blogging, Research and a lot of other stuff including skype calls to clients. Mobile and landline calls to suppliers, clients and office mates. Good thing I am using – Globe Tattoo Broadband.. unlimited calls to all globe and touch mobile numbers nationwide.

How was I able to keep working in Sarangani? To be specific in SAFI Farm in Maasim in General Santos City. Simple.

I brought my gadgets with me. 1 laptop. 2 Mobile phones – M1 and M2 from Kata Digital – 1 to use for data browsing with Globe’s gosurf packages for the facebook updates I needed to update the facebook page of the International Paragliding Accuracy Championship 2014 to keep everyone updated and another phone for phone calls. Why’d I use globe? Ask anyone who was there – Globe has a more stable connection in the area.

Once I got back to the hotel in the city, I could easily work on the projects and tasks set by my foreign clients using the hotel’s internet or via the portable hotspot I had.

Imagine, if I had an office job, I wouldn’t have been able to go and cover the IPAC2014 event.
